What would you do if you just found out that you had last stage lymphoma (an incurable, fast growing type of blood cancer)?
Perhaps you would do like singer and guitar player Tenfalk when first getting his cancer notice in the emergency room? He put together a short simple list, with some help from one of the nurses, containing important stuff he needed to get done before the worst scenario could be a fact.
At the top of the list was: “Open hard drives, find unfinished music, find a music producer and make him finish and release the songs - with or without me”.

While awaiting an extremely heavy 6 months chemotherapy Tenfalk got hold of producer Carl Granberg who previously worked with well known Swedish acts Tingsek, Bob hund, VED, Råå and FILT. Due to the uncertainty of Tenfalk’s very survival, guest singers were booked for the recording sessions as Carl started digging through a hard drive of 60 demos. He put 30 aside. A double album would be necessary. Vinyl a matter of course.
The sessions all went as planned with Tenfalk one week present in the studio and the next week locked up in chemotherapy.

Tenfalk's music is built on beats driven and rootsy origins blended with bits of kraut, dub, trip-hop and electronica to create a unique chamber pop, easily identifiable by his voice ranging from dark whispering to falsetto. Since the songs were composed during a period of 15 years, now finally being properly recorded, the album title 'Greatest Hits' made perfect sense, even for a debut album.
In southern Sweden, Tenfalk has been known as a powerful creative force. Working with legendary producer Tore Johansson for many years and founding the now legendary cultural institution Inkonst.

Tenfalk on his double album:
"I couldn’t be more happy with the results. When listening to the 28 songs (a few of them instrumental snippets) it’s obvious we spent a lot of time in the studio tweaking it all to a certain level of perfection. Both me and Carl love George Harrison’s Phil Spector produced triple vinyl debut “All Things Must Pass” from 1970. Also we managed to nail that dubby, rootsy and sometimes sample based acoustic sound blending well with my more synthesizer based stuff. Working as a DJ since the late 90’s my musical preferences are pretty diverse and I’m very pleased with the fact that we succeeded to present it all on this rather ambitious and to me extremely important piece of art. It’s like a mixtape or playlist with various artists, actually.
Frankly I’m not too concerned wheather people are gonna like it or not.
The album is for my two kids to keep when I'm not around anymore. But sure, if other folks love it 10% of what I do I'll be the first to smile."

Tenfalk’s cancer has not yet relapsed even if doctors are certain it will do so. He’s eating anti-retroviral drugs daily to push things forward. Rumor has it that an EP with one single 30 min track is ready for release this summer and that a second follow up album with brand new material is being composed at the time of writing.
